Hosting and server logs
The website is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser identifier in order to deliver the page and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition.
If you write to hallo@inlaut.de, the message is forwarded via Cloudflare Email Routing to the controller’s private mailbox and stored there in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete it as soon as it is no longer needed.
GitHub
Links to GitHub lead to a website of GitHub, Inc., where its privacy policy applies. Merely visiting this page does not send any data to GitHub.
The inlaut app
inlaut turns speech into text on your Mac. Recordings and recognized text are neither stored nor sent anywhere. On first launch, and when you switch languages, the app downloads the speech model from Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc., USA). Like any web server, Hugging Face sees your IP address. Apple speech recognition may download language files from Apple when needed. If automatic update checks are on, inlaut queries the version feed on inlaut.de once a day. Cloudflare receives technically necessary connection data such as your IP address and the app version in the user agent. Update packages are only downloaded from GitHub when you ask for them; GitHub then also receives the connection data needed for the download. Automatic checks can be turned off in the settings. No dictations are sent with these requests, and no additional system profile is sent.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for where you live.
